Mobile Video Screens Ready for Inauguration

WASHINGTON, DC — Truck-mounted video screens are ready to join what may turn out to be a crowd of more than a million people on the Capitol Steps and National Mall when Barack Obama is sworn in as the 44th U.S. president. The high-res mobile screens, the largest of which is 19 feet by 33 feet in size, are manufactured by Daktronics Inc. and provided by GoVision LP.

“A historic event of this magnitude deserves the biggest and best video production possible,” said Chris Curtis, CEO of GoVision, which also provided mobile video screens for President Bush’s second-term inauguration in 2005, shown here. “We’re honored to be entrusted with this vital element of the inauguration once again, and look forward to giving the record-breaking crowd a front-row seat to all the festivities.”

In addition to the four truck-mounted screens in the nation’s capital, GoVision is also setting up mobile units for watching parties at the Canadian embassy and in Chicago’s Grant Park. “We think January 20th may go down as the biggest large-screen rental day in history,” said Curtis.
