LOS ANGELES – Alice In Chains are in the midst of a five-week national tour, and Clay Paky Sharpy Washes are shedding light on 22 dates coast-to-coast as the band plays festivals, theaters and small clubs.  LD and lighting director Marty Postma originally spec’d 10 units, then added four more as the tour got underway. AUSTRALIA - In February, Concert & Corporate Productions in Western Australia took delivery of 24 VL3000 Spots and eight VL2500 Washes, which have seen action on a wide variety of events from Celtic Thunder, Neil Finn & Paul Kelly to the West Coast Blues'n'Roots Festival and Future Music Festival.

LANDSDOWNE, PA - Sapsis Rigging, in its continuing mission to help make the entertainment workplace as safe as possible, has just completed fall arrest equipment installations at The Lerner Theatre in Elkhart, Indiana and The Red Hat Amphitheater in the Raleigh (NC) Convention Center.

At the Lerner Theatre, SRI installed a horizontal lifeline on the loading bridge for the manual counterweight rigging system. The Lerner Theatre is used as a road house for local and national touring productions.

LONDON - Green Hippo, developers of the Hippotizer media server, has established a new beta testing program and is now recruiting field test candidates. Once registered and accepted, beta testers will be given access to all the latest builds and tools for the media server. An internal forum will also allow participants to engage in discussion with fellow testers and share new ideas.

LONDON - Avolites Media's Ai server has been powering the fast-paced visuals for Sky TV's spring series of “Got to Dance.” With the help of Ai, the visual team was able to see the entire TV studio as one giant canvas, using Ai's ability to scale the outputs to compensate for the varying pixel pitches of the different LED fixtures. Ai is equipped to play back to video canvasses up to 8x HD1080 and this was a significant benefit to the production.

DONALDSONVILLE, LA — Doug Thorpe of Wyndchaser Lighting was looking to update the house lighting for 110-year-old Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church. He opted for Mega-Lite UniColor fixtures with warm white LEDs to replace the building’s old halogen lighting.

LOS ANGELES – Christie Lites recently purchased more than 200 onPC command wings from MA Lighting to add to the lighting company's rental inventory.  The onPC command wings extend usage of the grandMA2 control system to customers working on location or those who find it physically difficult to fit a full grandMA2 console at their venue. Christie Lites' latest investment brings its total onPC command wing inventory past the 250 mark.
