The floods, which affected vast swaths of the Czech Republic and other central European countries including Germany and Austria, claimed several lives and caused chaos as tens of thousands were evacuated from their homes.

UEP Makes A Pointe with New Investments for Chilfest

UEP’s MD Steve ButcherTRING, UK - Rental specialist Universal Event Productions (UEP) has invested in 12 of Robe’s new Pointe moving lights together with another 10 square meters of Glux-12 LED screen. The Pointes will debut on the two-day 2013 Chilfest music festival staged July 5-6 in Tring. The production design will also feature 60 square meters of Glux, which UEP first had designed and built last year.

Entec again worked with LD Tony Austin and the production team led by Tour Manager Neil Brighouse. Entec’s Noreen O’Riordan and Adam Stevenson project managed the one-off.

Worker Killed in Accident After KISS Concert in Italy

MILAN, Italy — A 34-year-old worker was killed after a load-out accident that happened about 2:40 am June 19, hours after a June 18 KISS concert at the Mediolanum Forum here, according to Italian news reports. Farouk Abd Elhamid Khoaled, 34, from Egypt, was reportedly with two other workers moving gear to trucks for transport to the next stop on KISS’ Monster tour, a June 20 show at the Hallenstadion in Zurich, Switzerland. One of the other workers received minor injuries; the other was unharmed.
