E-mail Print PDF

In addition to the much-coveted title as Danish Favourite DeeJay of the Year, Kongsted is also the lighting designer of his own shows. For his recent music video for his new hit track R.E.D., Kongsted hung 72 of SGM’s one meter LED tubes (LT-100) from the ceiling. “The things you can create visually with these tubes are really amazing. It gives the whole experience a sense of being alive.” He continues: “With the 3D effect, it can be seen from every angle, and this is a very strong feature in my opinion. Another thing that makes it unique for me is that it is controlled by Art-Net, giving more opportunities from a visual standpoint in creating a strong visual expression.”

LOS ANGELES – Sixty Clay Paky Sharpy fixtures and a complement of grandMA2 consoles were used for the “Stand Up to Cancer” TV special. The Sharpys were used as strong beam lights and for their Sharpy dappling technique, explained LD Felix Peralta.  “Giant white walls acted as video projection surfaces, which we enhanced with accents of color or Sharpy dappling – treating the scenic pieces with the high-output fixtures to create a nice effect that you can’t get with a hard-edged light.  It was a big part of the look of the show.”

E-mail Print PDF

NEW YOURK CITY - For Train's album release show at Radio City Music Hall, LD Brock Hogan specified 10 VL4000 Spot luminaires from Philips Vari-Lite. “Before I got the lights there were definitely certain elements that I was excited about using, such as the dual animation wheels, the prism and gobo combinations, and the shutters. They bring so much to the table and give a designer so many options. The VL4000 Spot literally does everything," he said.

Six Christie HD14K-M projectors powered by a Vista Systems’ Spyder X20 1608 were used to project onto the 72-foot diameter dome, a daunting technical challenge.
