LOS ANGELES – ADJ is opening a sales and distribution facility in the city of Pan Yu, China. The new Guangzhou ADJ China will sell ADJ lighting products that are modified to meet the needs of the Chinese market.

LONDON - White Light supplied production solutions for the newest exhibition, ‘David Bowie Is,’ at London’s Victoria and Albert Museum. David Bowie Is combines lighting, video, and physical elements with the dramatic and distinctive sounds of Bowie’s music to create a larger-than-life sensory experience. For the exhibition, White Light provided lighting fixtures, lighting control and production services, including project management and console programming.

LINKOPING, Sweden - German electro-pop band Kraftwerk is using Dataton Watchout to project 3-D content in their concerts this year, starting May 24 in Australia. The audiences will wear polarized 3-D glasses to achieve the effect.

ITALY - Eros Ramazzotti’s European tour set, video and lighting were designed and built by lighting and video designer Jvan Morandi and his company Placing Shadow. Morandi explains the design. "The set itself consists of large hanging parallelepipeds, which are fitted with high resolution LED panels and large areas for video projections. The entire 18-ton assembly is equipped with a vertical automation system attached to the corners of the 3-D structures (four triangles, a diamond and a cube), which can be moved to give substance to the scene."

WORCESTER, UK - Lighting Let’s Dance for Comic Relief for the fifth year running, LD Steve Nolan of Chromatic Productions called upon PixelRange once again to provide sparkling effects lighting for this charity extravaganza. PixelRange donated 48 PixelSmart LED fixtures and 14 SmartLine 4 LED battens to provide extra pace and drama during the show’s title sequences and dance routines.

DURBAN, South Africa - LD François van der Merwe of Wizardry Group chose Robe moving lights as the central fixtures of his design for the 2013 Metro FM Music Awards. The event was staged at the Durban International Conference Centre Arena in South Africa.

SYDNEY - The new Clarity LX series consoles have saved time and energy for Sydney broadcast lighting director Grant "Doc" Watson and his operation Strauss Productions. The Clarity LX series cross platform interoperability with the PC and Mac software has allowed Strauss to create shows on Clarity software on a laptop while the LX Consoles are in use elsewhere and then bring the show file to site on a USB stick.

MALMO, Sweden - Tait’s European division supplied elements for the Eurovision Song Contest, which was televised to a worldwide audience with performances from 26 finalists last week in Malmo, Sweden. The design concept was to bring the audience and artists physically closer together and bring an intimate live experience to the next level.

SYDNEY - Sir Cliff Richard returned to Australia earlier this year with his "Still Reelin’ and A-Rockin’ " tour. Longtime LD Derek Jones brought a rig of close to 90 moving lights. To control the rig, he brought his own Vista S3 and Vista M1, part of a larger family of Vista consoles that he owns.
