Elation Professional SniperLOS ANGELES — Elation Professional launched Sniper, a hybrid multi-effect lighting fixture and laser simulator.  Promising a “powerful, precise and ultra-narrow 3° beam,” the fixture includes a high-speed X/Y scan and Z rotation mirror system designed to enable the Sniper to spread laser-like effects including liquid sky, laser wave, and laser cone effects, all capable of high speed movement. Sniper also allows these effects to be projected and “scanned” into the crowd; laser regulations do not apply to the fixture, which is not, strictly speaking, a laser projector.

The show is aired on CBeebies, the BBC-owned channel for kids under 6, launched along with the network's CBBC, targeting kids aged 6-12, back in 2002.

They inspired a lot of looks for this show,” he noted.

In Memoriam: Yoan Plourde, 25

VICTORIA, BC – In what has been reported as a non-work related accident, Yoan Plourde, a video technician who was part of the Solotech crew supporting the Jann Arden tour died early on Sept. 5 after a four-story fall at the Parkside Hotel and Spa here at about 2:30 a.m. Plourde, who was described by Solotech management as a “brilliant” video technician, was an only son; he is survived by his parents.

As with previous Massive Attack shows, back-lighting played a key role in retaining a sense of visual mystery and magic.

LD Thomas Gerdon Includes GLP’s New X4 XL at Nature One Festival. Photo by Ralph LarmannKASTELLAUN, Germany – The Nature One music festival, which took place here July 31-Aug. 2, drew some 72,000 visitors with a roster of 300 international DJs and EDM acts. The event gave LD Thomas Gerdon the chance to use GLP’s new large-format impression X4 XL for the first time. Gerdon already had 64 impression X4 heads incorporated into the stage design but managed to work in 12 additional X4 XL fixtures.
