He moved to Nashville after working in Tulsa, OK, as both an event and operations coordinator for the BOK Center and as the changeover manager for the Ted Constant Convocation Center.

MIDDLETON, WI – Theater-technology expert Harvey Sweet has retired from ETC (Electronic Theatre Controls, Inc.), after four years as ETC Rigging’s senior product manager. His career spanned 59 years in the theatrical production and equipment manufacturing industry. Sweet was a fundamental part of ESTA’s E1.6 – 1 Rigging Task Group, recognized for developing the motorized-rigging standard, and served on many industry committees. Dr. Sweet is also the published author of three theater-technology textbooks and taught theater technology, scenic design and theater aesthetics for more than 30 years at several universities.

LOS ANGELES – Electrosonic has promoted Rob Smith to sales manager of the Cultural Entertainment and Leisure (CEL) business for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Smith joined Electrosonic in 2010 as client account manager for the CEL team. Smith has spent 20 years in the AV industry. Before that, he served in the Royal Air Force as an avionics engineer.

BILLERICA, MA– Broadcast Pix has hired industry veteran Steve Ellis as its president and CEO, effective Feb. 11. He will also be a member of the company’s board of directors. Broadcast Pix co-founder and CEO, Ken Swanton, will remain actively involved with the company and on the board. Since 2008 Ellis has served as vice president of Telestream.

ELIZABETH, NJ - Production manager Chris Gratton has joined the Shockwave Cargo team. He will continue his current role as an independent production manager while working closely with Shockwave Cargo clients and prospects to help with their shipping and touring needs. Gratton has 20 years of experience in the touring industry, including handling cargo on his tours.
