SmithsonMartin’s Emulator Modular 1.0 software lets users customize multi-touch MIDI-controllers, and the company says that flexibility helps the software reach beyond the DJ universe and adapt to the needs of a wide spectrum of other professionals in the entertainment industry, including lighting and AV professionals. With medium base (E26) sockets, each with a built-in dimmer, the fixture can be changed dramatically by using alternate lamps from elegant with ‘vanity lamp’ globes to industrial with outdoor PAR38s.

Litepanels’ Sola 4 Fresnel LED lighting fixture, a DMX controllable LED Fresnel, is now shipping. The focusable Sola 4 features a 4-inch (10cm) Fresnel lens and uses Litepanels’ LEDs to produce a soft light quality in 5600°K daylight color balance. Sola 4 weighs 22 oz. (.62 kg) and measures 9” x 8” x 7” (229mm x 203.2mm x 178mm).

Houselights must provide emergency illumination, but DMX-controlled LEDs and other light sources typically return to a default setting during a system fault, and that state is usually all off. That can leave the hall completely dark. ETC’s DMX Emergency Bypass Controller addresses this situation. Using a single DMX512 universe, it allows DMX512-controlled lights to function as normal or emergency fixtures.

Mega-Lite’s Q-Loader is an RGB DMX lighting controller that offers pre-loaded scenes for easily changing the looks of RGB fixtures. It can control up to 16 fixtures and 10 channels per fixture. New scenes can be uploaded, downloaded and stored to the Q-loader via USB port on the front of the unit. It weighs less than 3 lbs. and measures 12 inches wide.
