SURREY, UK - The Pixel Depot opened last autumn at displayLED’s headquarters in Surrey (UK), designed as one of Europe's most comprehensive collection of innovative LED video displays from a range of leading manufacturers. “Our experts have scoured the world and tested products, including the latest technology from China, to find the most innovative, effective and user-friendly options currently on the market,” explains CEO Graham Burgess. The Pixel Depot showroom is also available for rental companies and designers to demonstrate options to potential clients, and as an educational resource and training facility. BIRMINGHAM, AL — Student Life, an inter-denominational ministry offering Gospel-centered summer camps and youth conferences, has taken PixelFLEX’s LED curtain video wall on the road during its recent conference. On the tour, Student Life uses 16 PixelFLEX panels across the stage as an accent to the production’s main 17 ft projection screen.

INDIANAPOLIS – The NBA’s Indiana Pacers have unveiled a new center-hung video board at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse designed to deliver an experience fans just can’t get at home – and a Spyder is a big part of it. ANC Sports Enterprises integrated the Vista Systems Spyder X20 to feed the new displays with entertainment, informative content for Pacers fans. The display is more than five times larger than the previous video board.

ATLANTA - Contemporary Christian artist Chris Tomlin and his band embarked on a 36-date US arena tour, taking with Renewed Vision's ProPresenter 5 lyric and media presentation software. ProPresenter 5 enables them to set up video cues in advance that can be triggered by playing a predetermined note. They can also display audience Tweets and can customize the live video to match the show’s pre-recorded content.

LOS ANGELES - Video equipment rental company Pete’s Big TVs supplied the high resolution LED video panels and a video tech crew for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremonies, held April 18 in Los Angeles. The set, designed by Bruce Rodgers, featured a video wall of 387 digiLED MC7 LED video panels, which spanned the stage at 65 feet wide and 15 feet tall. The event airs on HBO in May.

LONDON - Creative Technology (CT) will be the first customer to take delivery of the new 8mm outdoor LED product recently launched by Barco's specialist LED division, LiveDots. The C8 investment follows CT's introduction of the C5 and specially developed C16 as its mainstream indoor LED platform in early 2012. The new product is expected to arrive at CT in May. It is expected to be put into service soon afterward at key sports events.

LONDON - XL Video supplied full video production and crew for the recent UK arena leg of Biffy Clyro’s ‘Opposites’ world tour. The set design from show designer / director Misty Buckley featured an intricate tree-like structure which could morph into of a pair of lungs, complete with the arterial / branch complexity of both structures. LD Oli Metcalfe provided the integrated lighting design.

The NanoSlim 4mm LED display measures 6 feet tall by 11 feet wide and complements existing lobby decor while also adding a more modern design element.

Italy - Italian singer-songwriter Eros Ramazzotti opened his 2013 European tour in Italy last month, with Tait helping to bring his set design to life. The show opens with the main stage closed down and covered by the projection ceiling, a custom scenic element that consists of six geometric pieces. Each piece then flies away to reveal Ramazzotti and his band. These elements created a 3-D projection ceiling giving LD/set designer Jvan Morandi the versatility to form striking shapes and aerial effects during the show.
